I’m old enough to remember my America in the 50′s and 60′s. My country was strong and our morals were high, given to us by our parents who suffered through the Great Depression, fought the Second World War, then shifted back to a peace-time ecconomy. They raised their children with the intention of keeping them from the pain and suffering that was experienced during their childhood, and the horrors of war in their teens and twenties.

Unfortunatly, some of the greatest generation went too far. They pampered, then spoiled their children who expected and demanded everything should be for them, everything should be about them. These are the children that went on to believe the Marxist “Professors” dribbling their Communist hatred for this land that protected them, and at the same time demanded the destruction of our Constitution that gave them the right to speak thusly.

Most of these spoiled children went on to become democrats. They now demand the destruction of our culture, law’s and Constitution. They also demand the adoption of Marxist rule. There are no law’s under the heel of Communism, only brute force. Law’s can only exist in a free Republic.

Is America in Decline? Only if you don’t vote. Get out and vote people, vote Republican. Vote freedom first which is the opposite of what the democrats want. They want your freedom and your money, remember the bailout. They want your Children, remember Bill Ayers indoctrinating school children in Chicago. They want your Land, your cars and your gas.  They don’t want you to be mobile. We’ll lose our freedom when we lose our Land, and our mobility.

I just finished one hour of glorious riding on my Mountain Bike after a full two days and one night of rain that Clean that Bike!we needed. The soil had absorbed the rain, leaving only a damp surface. But still my bike collected dirt, mud and leaves. Therefore, before storing my bike I always clean, inspect and lubricate when needed.

While preforming preventative maintenance on my Mongoose I lift it up onto a table, so most of the bike is at eye level. I first give it a quick look for obvious signs of breakage, loose cables, broken or maladjusted brakes, cut tires and cracks. Then I use a 4″ long-handled brush to dust away leaves, dried mud and any other debris which takes away from the beauty of the bike. Remember, whatever vehicle looks good drives good. If the bike was covered with mud I would have hosed it off, then dried all parts, then reinspected.

I next check the chain drive and it’s parts. I  wipe off the chain to remove grit from the bearing parts, then check for evidence of needed lubricant. A few words about lubricating the chain; I’ve tried three in-one oil for this purpose but it collects dirt like a magnet. I now use WD40, a thin oil that is easy to apply between parts. This is in spray form, thin and requires application more often, but it cleans bearing parts also. It has worked very well for me. Go biking!
